The shower: It’s a feature of a bathroom that usually hogs a lot of space. An enclosure with clear glass frames lets the eye travel farther. And if your bathroom is big enough, consider a shower with no door.
Switch out monotone tile. Incorporate a variety of placements, sizes and colors, and stretch it to the ceiling. Numerous visual “stopping points” between those aspects make the space seem more fragmented. Light colors bring an airiness, especially if the bathroom has no windows.
Replace the vanity cabinet. Bulk is very crowding. A pedestal sink gives a room a lot more empty space. Put the items previously in the cabinet in tall and slim free-standing storage units.
Chuck the tchotchkes. Too many souvenirs, trinkets or ornaments equal clutter. Instead, hang a big mirror on the largest wall. It will reflect light and lend perceived depth
